Flies
deceivers = white, chart., olive, and blue back (yellow too))
clousers = chart/white, yellow/white (bass love yellow)
Bobs Bangers all colors
all tied on 3/0 will do.
thats all you need..

that time of year it will be windy (north east is the best)

Don't forget the back side of the hook (plum island)
The point has deep water in close, got to get down fast there for the larger fish

Don't worry the beaches are closed to swimming when we will be there. I would like to add to the list of flies sometimes going small is good like sand eels bay anchovys and peanut bunkers patterns .

Sandy Hook in Mid November can be an awesome experience.

If the date isn't good for you or you'd like to try the ocean a couple weeks earlier, please see the Announcements and Events forum for details of an alternative salt jam at IBSP on the weekend of 22 Oct. This is not to step on Fredrick's jam (Fredrick and I have discussed the option of two different dates) - by all means attend both events if you care to. Normally, we have one jam per season per event but on occasion if there's a willingness to organize 'em, we'll have alternate opportunities.

I talked to the owner of Colton Fly Fishing and he agreed to have a special discount on rods and reels 8-10 wt for people who are attending the Salt Jam. I own several rods and reels from Colton and they are great deal for the money . Here is the website if your interested http://coltonfly.com/

I will be tying up some sand eel patterns for those that will be attending my Jam/Vacation Sand eels were the dominate baitfish at the hook the last two years that I have gone . So if you are certain that you will be attending shoot me a pm
