Jesus lol I used to practice eclipse ten man all the time. At that time I played for Blue Chips. I actually played an event in Las Vegas for Philadelphia Eclipse. Ten man those were the good ole days.

Is it just me or does it appear as though this thread has nothing to do with the OP's needs? I mean I've hijacked my share of threads before but this baby has done jumped tracks!

Anyway, Echo Carbon is closing out last year's model's and I saw their 6'6" 3wt rod on sale for $127.99. Usually $170 or $180. Of course, if you have a friend who is cleaning out his stock, you can get it for much less.

Good luck.

The OP asked about a 4wt and the 3 wt echo should be great brookie rod with a 4w line. ... A 3wt rod is made to cast the weighit of approx 30 ft of 3 wt line. For shorter casting, a heavier line is better; 25 ft of 4 wt line weighs about as much as 30 ft of 3 wt line. And you might cast 25 ft for brookies, Foxgap, if you stand as far back as possible to avoid spooking the fish!

Agreed but I took the word "under" as relating to both lenght and weight. I certainly could be wrong. Although I planned on trying a 4 wt first..............hmmm, I would say great minds think alike but that would assume I even have a mind!

Phil Baldacchino's tackle shop is on Kettle Creek, PA.

His RG704B 7' 3/4 wt e-glass Riffle is fantastic for small streams

Orvis outlet in Lancaster has/had 2- 7' 4piece 4wt superfines with no rod tubes but I think it did come with a sock, they do not have the warranty. The price was $239 each. This was on Sunday
