What are you willing to trade? If you have a 6 or 7wt reel, I'm listening. I also would throw in a 4wt line to even things up if necessary.

Nope I don't have any extra reels.

I gave my wife my old setup and went out and bought a 4wt rod and an 8wt rod this week. my current reel handles the 8 wt nicely.

Come to think of it I am so new to this I dont have alot of extras to deal.

Would you be intrested in selling that reel?

I would only sell it if I had a 6wt reel to use.

Currently, I use a large arbor 5wt reel on my 9' 5wt and my 11.5' 6wt. The reel is too light to balance the 6wt, so I'd like to get a heavier one. If I can do that, I can recommission the 5wt reel to work on both my 9' 5wt my 8' 5wt, and my 8' 4wt, which frees up the reel i currently use on my 8' 4 and 5s...

That was a mouthful.

I'll take stock of the inventory tonight and see what I can do, but I don't want to leave myself without a reel for all my rods.

Yeah I agree. As far as having a reel per rod. I love my main reel that I have now. I got it on sale for $80.00 and I looked up an extra spool for it the other day and it was $70. I am not going to spend as much for a spool as I did for the reel.

Temple Fork Cartridge reels sell new about $50 and they come with 2 spools. For the money they are not bad at all.

The are some cheap used reels to be found at www.codella.com.

Bah, just buy a $25 Medalist 1494 and be done with it. Drags are for pansies and bass fishermen.

Or, watch ebay for an antique model and spend way more on a beat up one because its "vintage." Don't know anyone 'round here who might do that, though....
