FYI, some people have them 10% off on ebay, selling them for $270 with free shipping. That is new as they were pretty fixed at $300.

It is a killer rod. I used it all Winter into Spring. Loved it so much I decided I might as well "upgrade" to a Winston Bllx 10' 4 wt as it had to be even better. I then sold the Streamflex to TUNA on this site for $200. Huge mistake. That Streamflex is a much better all around rod. The Winston has a couple of things I like better, but it stinks as a dry fly rod, whereas the Streamflex is pretty decent at presentation. 10' rod is sweet for keeping line off the water during dry presentation. The Winston is in no way a 4 wt rod. It's a solid 5-6 weight rod, to the point I would not be afraid to use it for steelhead.

You will love the Streamflex.

I love my JDaddy Streamflex. I couldn't have designed a better rod for myself. I like it so much I'm probably going to get the 10' 3wt next. I haven't even been able to use any other rods, except for small streams, because I like the 10' so much. I even have a brand new never outta the tube Orvis Clearwater II 8.5' 4wt that I probably won't use anytime soon. I just wish I would have made the switch to longer rods alot sooner.

Jdaddy that would make sense that it has trouble with dry flies.
My understanding of the Winston 10'-0 4 wt it was to be a chech nymph rod. I would be interested in trying that rod some day if you are thinking of parting with it. Maybe Stockoberfest?

Thanks

I think 95% of people would agree the Streamflex is a better Euro nymphing rod as well. You need a certain amount of give in a Euro rod, thus the reason most use 3 and 4 wt 10' rods. The Winston is a solid 5.5-6 wt rod IMO. It is pretty much universally agreed that Winston failed with this rod. It was greatly anticipated, so that is part of the let down among Winston lovers. Go to the Winston website, they have a decent forum there. It is discussed.

You are welcome to try it. I don't see selling it anytime, as I find it useful in other arenas. Actually, I find it to be a decent Euro and indi nymphing rod, just stiff than I thought it would be. I liked the Streamflex because it was an excellent nymph rod and a decent dry rod.

Wow. You know you drive past the North American distribution center for Greys/Hardy every day. Might want to give them a ring and see if they have any close outs on the cheap.

Esopus is indian for what?

Nate, did you find joy at the distribution center or no joy? Or did they send you to the fly shop across the street?
