I didn't say anything about the price until after you made it clear it was no longer available. There was a question raised about the warranty. Your response was intentionally vague, and all I did was post the correct answer direct from Scott's website, just like i did last time. If you had answered honestly, I never would have said anything.

Enjoy your mudsharks.

Just my $0.02, its Becker's rod...he can sell it for whatever he wants. If its too much, don't buy it.

Like I said if they can be bought for $185-$200 which they clearly can be as posted in the above links, why would you try and sell it for $250 other than to try and profit of guys on here.

He didn't. He offered to trade it. Also, while I was the one who found the value, I said sure you can get it for that much, but who knows how long it'll take? You can have it now, or you can have it later. Pay for the priveldge, eh?

As to the veracity of that warranty, all the ad says it comes with a card. As has been pointed out, unless you meet requirements, well, its just a piece of paper. If we all want to be pedantic jackholes, its to be pointed that Becker's ad simply stated it came with an unfilled warranty card.

You don't follow along too well, I assure you Becker's "following" delight in laughing at with at his shananigans and aren't going to support him in anything.

You didn't argue about the warranty. Kindly re-read. I said you pointed out that A3s were being blown out at prices below what he was asking. In fact, I believe you mentioned the very rod you're trying to trade here.

The post in question was removed, likely because the aforementioned chiseler whined to the management.

Shebop, IIRC, is defender of the Scott Warranty Policy in all threads thus far. I don't remember the exchange on pricing, but it sounds like a Beckerism, although I'm pretty sure which mope he means, and that said that guy tends to be a bigger hangup on low cost fishing tomfoolery, whereas Becker is too unable to understand "savings" to worry 'bout it.

That said, the post in question, like the last time one of these was blown out, was removed. Its been noted in offline Cabal meetings, and it presumably because chiselers in question don't like being pointed out that there's a level of dishonesty that could pervade their dealings.

Frankly, I suspect this thread'll join those last two off in the ether. As much as its fun to ride Becker mercilessly, its sad that it reaches this point when the truth is, outside of some ignorance of the warranty process, he's not really doing anything wrong.

Oh, hell. Did I support him?! I'd like to point out before I'm accused of being in any form of "posse" with him that I was also the guy who provided 9 links full of A3 rods under $200, stirring up another page or two of debate on this.

Just gonna use it as a tomato stick.

BTW, Winston price increase 10/01. Get 'em while they're hot. I am still trying to figure out what all to load up on. 1 of each?

Don't you have one of each?

You know Tom Morgan's rolling his own blanks now, right? Fiberglass, even.

Ya but they are a bit more niche market than even Winston. Low performance/high cost.

I don't have one of each. Actually I am not that robusto in rods right now. I am good in 4wts. Current:

No 3wt
8' 4wt BIIIx
9' 4wt BIIIx
10' 4wt BIIIx
9' 5wt BIImx
no 6
no 7
no 8
10'6" 9wt Bob Popovic St Croix Legend Ultra (ya it's a brutal as you think it would be)

I need 6,7 and/or 8wts.

Probably 7. And would like to dump BIImx 5wt and upgrade to BIIIx.

Then I need moar reels.

jdaddy, the aforementioned 7 wt is still available and I'd be happy to deal it.

So you don't have to scroll back. Sage Fli. 9ft, 7 wt. Lightly used (like 4 or 5 times).

Man in your tax bracket could make a splash with one 'o them. IIRC, he's got some hoidy toidy 7wt he terms "unity with the universe."

Its not green, though. Red.

Seriously, wouldn't you want like a 7' 3wt to complete the low end of the line up?

Great rod. Just ordered BIIIx 7wt to keep it all green because I am weird.

I had a 8' 3wt WT. Found I was always pushing it way to hard. Big difference between a 3wt and 4wt. That's why Ed should get rid of that 4wt TMF.

Something under 8', no? 7' 3wt? Saw there was a BX or something ike that, something in their "performance" section.

I'd be curious to heft the TMF to see what all the talk is about. When he dies, I'm putting myself in line for that one.
