I have a newer (Asian made) 1495 Medalist in good condition with one completely new spare spool.

Will sell or trade. Make me an offer. I would be interested in lines, tying materials, rod building components, whatever. Anything of similar value. Would also trade for a 1494 Medalist.

I think I have a 1594 1/2, but I'd need to check. Its well used, however.

Having second thoughts on the idea of strait up trade for a 1494...

So scratch that.

I may also have a 1595 1/2, but I'd have to check, if that's more your speed. Anyways, no issue to me, I don't need it, but could always find a need for a second frame and more spools.

The **95 models are a little larger than what I prefer. Hence, my original interest in a 1494 which I was considering using as a source for a modern reel foot and a reversable drag plate to use on a vintage 1494. I'm just not sure that I want to pull apart an otherwise OK reel just for the foot and plate.

One PFoot will sell you a REAL metal drag plate and a silver foot instead of hte ugly new black painted thing.

I don't know what hte foot will run, but the drag isn't very much, I think its about $12.

The one pfoot web site lists the one pfoot at about $40 bucks and the drag plate at just over $20. I paid $24 for the entire 1950's vintage 1494 that I purchased recently. I understand that the one pfoot products are quailty, niche products, but those prices are about twice what I would pay for the mentioned parts. I could probably use the foot and plate from my 1495, but then I would still have a bunch of parts left over and spool with no reel to use it on.

Any takers for $22? That's the reel, spare spool, and shipping.
