Since these classics are no longer manufactured spare parts are not easy to find. Will consider purchasing a whole reel.

Note that spools made for 1495AK (made in Hong Kong-China) do not always fit US made 1495s--I would say a good 65 percent of the time they don't fit. This is very different from the 1494s which seem to work irrespective of country of origin.

If your reel is an AK I can get a mint spool to you for $17 shipped. But if it's US made and you want to be able to swap back and forth you may as well go on ebay for a US made reel. 1495s tend to auction for less than 1494s so you have that going for you as well.

Thanks Rolf. Already got one, but this looks like a great resource site for the future.

Squatch, there is a guy on the bay and FFR that often has them, goes by the handle reelsmith. Just posted one yesterday on FFR but is is sale pending already. I just bought another whole reel. 310's in good usable shape are not to expensive. I actually might have one from a reel I bought for parts. Let me check.

Squatch, Look for Whitey's reel shop in Sellersville. This guy's got everything. Nice guy, too.

It's up to Greenghost since it's his thread, but this thread can be deleted. I don't want folks to know I gouged him for 2 bucks on that spool, though he did get a box.

That'd be sweet if you have a spool! The Squatch would greately appreciate it!
