I got this reel from a coworker for Christmas. I really have no use for it, so I'm putting it up for sale on here. It's a metal reel that seems to be of fair to good quality. Not terribly sure of the brand. I messed around with the drag and I think it's surprisingly decent. So, for $30 you get a brand new metal reel for a budget build! Shipping will probably be five bucks.

That's the same reel that cabelas rebrands with their name on it. They retail for $90.

That is a cabelas prestige premier reel. I was told lamson made components for those reels. Wow...I had the wool pulled over my eyes! Or they contract out to china as well as build in America.

Well, someone buying the gift from cabelas would totally make sense. I don't know where it's made, so don't begin to think your reel is a piece of crap. Like I said, I played with the reel and the drag and the thing doesn't feel cheap.
