Looking for kid's chest waders

Hi gang,

My daughter is expressing an interest in trying some fly fishing. Anybody have any leads on a kids size 5/6 chest waders with boots? I'd like to try the pre owned market first before buying new, just in case this doesn't stick with her.

Thanks!

look up youth fishing waders. DO Not buy the white river ones they just brought out at bass pro. Im not sure that they fixed the seems in the leg, which is the same design as the adult. The wader at the feet fills up with water and its like you have twenty pound feet. Def not what you would want your kid wearing. Believe me man, for a time I was trading wader after wader after wader there. Its not that hard I dont understand why they still sell them.

Check out www.oakiwear.com. One of the few sites I found for this. Of course maybe cabelas too.

I have a pair of neoprenes and wading boots that I think all my kids are grown out of. I'll dig them up and check the size

I had bought my daughter a pair from albright for $35... this was about 2 years ago for xmas. they are still going strong.

I don't know if albright still carries them, but certainly worth looking into.

David, thanks for the Albright suggestion. It does look like they are still made. The xs may be too large for her, but it may work. Need to check their return policy.

Was gonna recommend the oakiwear too. Actually ordered a pair for my 2 1/2 year old this year. Not so much for her to actually stand and wade in the water because she's still a little young, (although she has been testing me to see how far I'll let her in), but more for my sake. She stays dry and warm and when were done I just take them off and no muddy shoes or pants. Their not cheap but definitely worth the money. Well constructed and durable. Also anyone with kids knows that keeping a kid comfortable is half the battle with getting them interested in a sport like this. Once their cold or wet you can forget it.
