in good condition ... rod has been used, so there are are a few marks here and there. Includes Sci Anglers rod&reel case cut to fit it. Good brookie rod that weighs about 3 oz and will balance with a light reel. $50 incl shipping and case, or trade for about 30 #14 elk hair caddis, preferably with a good amount of light colored hair that will stand out in tannic water :)

please PM and thanks...

The fly trades are novel, let me know how many EHC it'll take for a Hardy Perfect, please. :)

Guys: I put the greys here to make a fast deal with someone who will appreciate it. I have traded rods for flies before, great flies were tied and I enjoyed using them. I like swapping with people who tie, but whatever. I'd prefer elk hair caddis #14 with a heavy amount of light hair to stand out in tannic water, tied on slightly strong barbless hooks. ... thanks.

I can't see your bargain being anything but good at $50, but what can you tell us about "Grey's"? I have not heard of them. Is this a blank from a more famous rodmaker with another brand name slapped on? How do you rate the action on this?

Thanks for your reply.

Grey's is the lower priced line of rods offered by Hardy. It is the #1 selling fly rod brand in Europe, I believe, and is gaining in popularity in the US; especially the longer Euro nymphing rod line. Many guys swear by Grey's rods.

I should have said that I am selling this rod after less than a year to buy a more expensive greys model -- and to avoid having to go on TV as The Fly Rod Hoarder. Gosh it is hard to sell things cheaply :)

I'd say its mid-fast.

could hand over round philly if anyone is interested.

You and Heritage Angler can share the show, just remember, at 32 rods you drop dead.

I had a Grey's Streamflex 10' 4wt that I fished all Winter and Spring. I decided that nymphing was so productive I would never throw a dry again. Then the first hatch hit. LOL. The Greys did a wonderful job with nymphing, whether it be euro styles or indicator and it did a decent job of presenting a dry. In a moment of brilliance I bought a 10' 4 wt Winston because, you know, it's got to be even better. I sold the Streamflex to a guy on this forum before I fished the Winston. Mistake. The Streamflex is a better all around rod and particularly a better dry fly rod. I have used one other Greys rod and it was nice as well.
FWIW, Greys/Hardy North American distribution center and offices are located in Lancaster, PA.

gfen: I keep the number of rods at ten or less. Just don't ask how many I have sold to do this. Plus I fell on one on a rough hike and ...

In a fly-for-rods deal, someone can do some tying and get a nice rod without spending too much cash. The flies that have been tied for me in these deals have been great so far, and I enjoyed using them.

You are first in line for any future Flies-4-Hardy Perfect deal, but for now can I interest you in a 5'6", 5w, 2pc, 1.5oz dorber little streamer? But wait, there's more... :)

No, I've gone to the stupid light side.. but I surely could use a 8'+ 3wt with moderate, full flex action.

Also a fan of clicking reels without drags, reels with round line guards, and Jennifer Connelly. I'll trade alot of flies for JC.
Alot.

FWIW, no one's bagging on flies-for-gear, again, its a pretty awesome way to get what you want.

I see one downside to Flies-4-Gear, it will reduce the number of flies I buy from my local shops for a while. But I bought the grxi+ and my new greys from local fly shops, and my Flies-4-Gear Extravaganza (tm) has already helped make it happen.

Not true. The Grim Reaper visits at 40. I usually don't sell rods, but I felt compelled to sell you that 10' 5wt because it was the first rod I saw you cast that didn't make you look like you were ice fishing.
