Here's my brother and I's blog.

http://nicksfishinhole.blogspot.com/

I don't really have it to seek a big audience, but more so just the joy of writing up reports/adventures and looking back at them as well as sharing with family, friends, and whoever happens to stumble upon it. Plus it's fun to do.

mine is www.centralpatroutbum.blogpot.com

I wish I could find more time to devote to it. I really like posting trips and the connections I have made from blogging.

My blog, mentioned in one of the earlier posts on this thread is nothing special. I started it about a year ago as i wanted to record my progress in learning to tie classic flies and also to put them out there for others to read and see. I currently get about 100 hits per week, and i've got 40 followers. Before i started it, i read a lot of the local guys, DTT, Troutrageous, ACF, TFM etc. and thought, hey, why not, i can do that too.
A lot of what i post on the blog is just flies, the (very) odd fishing trip and sometimes responses to questions asked on forums if i think it would make a good post. Some months only one or two posts, this month alone i think i've 12 posts. I put up some SBS for flies i've tied or techniques folks have asked about on forums too.

I keep it strictly fly tying/fishing with very little, if any personal family related posts. Just my preference.

Currently at 40 followers on the blog, and over 100 on facebook

I enjoy posting, especially the flies. I'll keep it going as long as there is interest. Just did my first giveaway recently too.
I didnt start it looking for free stuff by doing reviews etc, and frankly have never been approached to do any, which is fine. I write it because i like it...if i get approached, that would be great too!

Anyways, feel free to check it out if you want, the link is easy to find.

It's very easy. I'm familiar with blogger so just Google "blogger", click on create blogger and go from there. You can also Google "how to start a blog" for advice. Once you get familiar with it you can do all sorts of custom stuff. On your blog's main page click on "Design" and then click "Customize."

If you're concerned about messing up, you can always delete and start a new blog or start two at the same time and use one for experimenting.

Wordpress is another blog service that's easy.

I've been connecting with a lot of bloggers lately. Been a great way to have my products out there to the masses.

One of the most popular ones

http://www.moldychum.com/

Another decent one

One way is to diversify. Post or refer to articles from TU, a fly fishing lodge, a stream in England, etc. I had a blog for a short time a few years ago. My most visited posts were wallpapers from Fly Fisherman Magazine and photo's of Saracione reels.

I've been fooling around with my blog. I haven't got much content, but it's going to be all about my journey into fly fishing, time spent on the water, and what obstacles I had to overcome in order to fish on the fly effectively. I won't post the link just yet, because there really isn't anything to see, but this spring I will be adding a ton of content to it.
