Fishin' Around by Burton Spiller
This is an older book, published in 1974, that I just re-read (but can't remember previously reading it). It is a nice fishing book, almost all fly-fishing. It is divided into three sections: about a backcountry fly-fishing trip to Nova Scotia, some Maine fishing adventures, and mostly a Quebec backcountry fishing trip. Spiller mainly fishes for wild brook trout and landlocked salmon. Since he was 86 when the book was published, I think most of the stories are from the 1930s thru the 1950s, though the stories are not dated. The book is written nicely: it sounds as though Spiller (mostly known as a grouse hunter, according to the dust jacket) is talking to you about his fishing. It was a Winchester Press book, and I imagine you Internet-savvy people might find a copy of it at a used book site on the Internet. If you can find a copy, you will enjoy reading "Fishin' Around."
