its actually called a dji phantom 2 quadcopter.. so technically its a rc copter with a gimbal mount for a camera. they refer to it as a drone, so I suppose that's where I got it

Is not a drone, in the military sense, nothing more than a fancy RC airplane?

I've been playing with a Phantom for some time now, but haven't had the balls to fly it over water for any extended periods of time.

Nicely done.

Time for me to man up.

Couple of Hellfire missiles attached and overcrowding is suddenly no longer a problem.

Pretty much. But this isn't the military so I suppose were good to call it a drone. It's OK if you are unimpressed :)

I just watched the vid. Wow what a great picture - so clear and stable.

That thing is mad... Imagine it on a spring creek, Alaska or Quebec salmon fishing ! The shots you'd get of the fish taking (or not) in that clear water would be insane.

Well done!

This was actually a hurry up job. I used the standard YouTube editor. But I have Sony Vegas pro for the next videos

Here's a pic.

Resized Image

I've seen these before but the idea of it carrying a video camera is amazing.
