I'm just going to be honest here and say that was a bad location for the go pro. It's all good until you set the hook then it's just a view of the sky. Have you tried it on a head band? Good idea, but it only worked half the time. I agree rock bass ( red eyes ) can be a blast.

I actually don't enjoy rockbass on the fly. They don't fight very much compared to other panfish. Smallies, on the other hand, now that's some heavy duty rock and roll.

I agree with Squatch on this one. After the initial hit the rock bass generally skates to the surface with their mouth wide open and offer very little fight. Kind of like bringing in a chunk of submerged foliage. Smallies and fallfish on the other hand are the bomb on a fly rod! Lots of fun with a whole lot of scrap in these two species.

I would also recommend the headstrap for the gopro. Another great tool is the gorillapod tripods with the tripod adapter, both of which you can get for around $30. Having the ability to wear the camera on your head and also place it on the ground gives you a ton of options for when you go to edit. I've also fixed my gopro onto a wading staff with the handlebar attachment, which in clearer water conditions lets you get some pretty neat shots of the fish swimming underwater.

I'd rather catch a large bluegill than a rock bass.

The red eyes over below the dam at Raystown get huge and do put up a good fight. But I understand the little ones don't.
