I haven't for more then forty years, but wouldn't hesitate to keep a brown now and then.

The object of a resource is to use and reuse a resource, not to use it up, have we learned nothing in over 125 years of stocking?

i have if they have the big head skinny body look about them - means they're spent and just taking food that other younger fish would benefit from.

lovely with bacon or on their own with duck fat.

i'm of the opinion that in a healthy fishery culling a few actually helps it thrive, but the brookie fisheries are generally on the brink wherever you go so i prefer not to.

nowhere is so sweet, as the bosom of the vale where the bright waters meet.

Sometimes I wonder how the herons can live with their guilt and shame. They must get no sleep at night.

Like others who have posted, I really want to be sure the resource is protected and it really is not worth the hassle to me. I will tell you that the only time I feel any guilt would be if I killed any animal and then let it go to waste; frankly that is what pisses me off.

Only time that I could see keeping wild trout would be for some nostalgia in a remote camping trip.
