anyone else considering building an ark soon?

Look at the stream flows and temps! Good for the fish but it's pretty much killed my fishing this year. More rain on the way.

Freestones have made it this year in good condition (for the most part). Wish it was like this every year. I'll use fishes eddy on the delaware's east branch as an example. It has wild fluctuations over the course of the season in flows and temps. This time last year...300 cfs and 80 degrees. This year it's 3000 cfs and in the 50's.

The high flows and muddy water has kept me off the Susky so far this season. Sucks for me but it's good for the fish. Gives them a break from anglers too.

Lehigh should be done now. However, the rain has kept temps still trout friendly in the middle river. Think it has only been one day that the water has been over 70 degrees for the full day. Usually I am hammering smallies now. Smallie bite is SLOW but those dang trout keep co-operating!

I personally enjoy fishing in parking lots from my truck.

Last year it was a drought like conditions on all the streams I normally fish. Storms would come and just miss the drainage basins of all the streams around Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill. Meanwhile, places that were a couple miles away had flash flooding. I was able to wade into areas that during a normal summer would have been over my head. I believe that the weather harmed the local trout populations greatly. So I am thinking of it as a rebuilding year.

Head to the circus Andy. I was in stilesville last weekend and the fishing was hot. I wasn't in the farmer's pool either.

I once saw Herb Weigel guiding this way at the Ditch. Sitting on his tailgate telling his client what to do.

Now there is a name I don't see mentioned here often. I miss Herb and Cathy's old shop.

Not at all. I fished 2 streams in Clinton county last Friday/Saturday and one of them was as low as I've ever it, and I've fished it 22 times. Always the same months. The other was low as well, but still had decent volume.

It's the stream temps that have given me the most trouble. Much of this season has provided water temps that are too cold for good activity. Temps are up now though.

Good for resource.

Does not allow me to get enjoyment from resource.

Resource >= fishermen?

It depends on where you are in the state.

The flows across a large area of central and NC PA are not high at all. They are at a pretty nice level for fishing.

Young Womans Creek is at about 14 cfs. It will fish OK at that level. But I consider the ideal flow to be about about 70 cfs.

At least Bruce Fisher won't be raising hell with people fishing Penn's too late. Guy pissed me off last time I was in his shop. Tried to send us home last June as if only he cares about hurting trout. Good guy but he doesn't own penns!
