For what I believe was the first time ever, we found what appeared to be wild Brook trout in Wyomissing Ck. A dozen yearlings were electrofished in 321 meters of sampling along with the usual modest Brown Trout population. I suspect that they are coming from a near-by trib, as the headwaters section was sampled last year and only produced a very nice Class A equivalent biomass population of wild Browns. If anyone knows for certain which trib in Mohnton supports a wild brookie population, I would certainly be glad to learn which trib it is, as this will save time in locating it. These fish did not appear to be cooperative nursery escapees. If you are reluctant to discuss this in an open forum, please pm me. Thank you in advance.
