I know Mike is good.

For flies that I do not tie myself, for whatever reason, I use the Fly Stop.

+1 for bigyflyco. They're very reasonably priced, and they do have fly assortments if you don't want to out together your own.

+1 for fly stop for nymphs / streamers

For dries, Dennis Scarpa from Catskill Flies. Not cheap but he does some of the best ties I've ever seen.

If you've ever used a fly shop for information on fishing conditions, hatches, etc. either at the shop, by phone, or using their website, that fly shop would be a good go to source for flies.

Roscoe NY has pretty good density of local fly shops with good flies: Dette's (oldest fly shop in world some claim), Catskill Flies, and Baxter House are good. The Little Store is an old school general store with local flies too.

Jonas at the Feathered Hook can set you up.

I've bought flies from Mike Heck at shows and they did the job. I've been happy with the flies I got from Tom Baltz too. John Collins in NJ is good. Contact Sandfly - he's got a good shop.

You can get cheaper flies on the internet. I prefer to support shops that use local tiers and local guides. Get better flies IMHO and develop relationships that get you keyed in to the local fishing scene.
