Now that bikerfish has volunteered I've got everything covered. Also have hughzar attending. Now lets just hope the grannoms cooperate. A few pics for those who haven't fished over that hatch before.

That can be arranged. The only reason I thought about starting that early is that we got into some consistant risers for the grannoms right around 11am last year and thought that would give us plenty of time to get all the instruction done. It's tentative right now though.

I might stop by but I'm not sure about that date yet. Will know sometime in march.

I work midnight shift friday night the 8th, and would want to get some sleep sat morning.
But I could get up there around 1 that afternoon to help out in any way.

As for those grannoms hatching then - that seems really early for them. I know all the hatches came off about 2 weeks early last year, but that was pretty odd

Typically (from my limited experience) I've seen them come off a few days before the opener. I know that varies, but I'd say average is anywhere from the 10th to the 20th of April. If we get lucky we might get the early part of it. Not that we need a hatch, but I know when I was just starting out I had no clue what a hatch was or when or how to find one, so it would be nice if we got a bit lucky.

We need to get the word out to people who ARE NOT on this web site and are interested in learning how to fly fish.
I'm thinking High Schools, scout troops, who knows what all. We don't want to throw a party and nobody show up.

we already have quite a few newbies showing up. I think keeping it small will benefit those that are coming. the original idea was to give new folks that were members of the board a chance to get out and fish with some more experienced folks and learn some things. this isn't the orvis fly fishing school.
if we have 10 people show up, that would be perfect.
if you want to organize a fly fishing school for none members, then by all means go for it.
let's keep it small, keep it simple, and keep it fun for ALL involved.
plus, I think the new folks that are coming will benefit more, having almost one-on-one instruction on the stream. if you tell me I gotta take a dozen high school kids down the stream to fish, I'm gonna go straight to the bar.

Looks like I'll probably make it for that date. Geuss I'm responsible for the donuts and coffee.

You're welcome to come riverdog. Plenty of room.

You can pick either coffee and donuts or fly tying Kev. lol. Your choice! I'll do whatever you don't want to... just remember, if I bring donuts it'll be Orams....

Can I get a volunteer to try and take some pics and or video while we're there?

Oram's cinnamon rolls for the win.

I can do tying but we'll hafta discuss it more when it gets close. I'm still officially tentative as I am going out of town that sunday and will be pretty busy that weekend...

BTW, you have not had a donut until you've had A May's cream stick donut.
