I can honestly say I've never seen anything like that before, quite unusual.
 
Fragile rubber hatchery trout. It is a wonder they survive the first week in the stream.
 
Hopefully the person wet their hands before they handled it....

Well, trout don't have pockets, so what do you expect?

I actually have one of those knives and just checked, just in case. Damn rainbow trout will take anything.
