I was being good naturedly facetious.
Mining and logging had just about ruined trout fishing in the East and Midwest-
Bergman wrote about about streams filled with dead chickens etc.
Soaking gut and treating silk lines was a PITA
So the good old days really never were but
I think that those of us who love flyfishing for trout on streams might due well to resist the temptation to ``Keep up with the times'' and get with it like BASS and redfish groups.
Needless to say most people here seem to appreciate its the traditions of flyfishing that make is so enjoyable not the future trends.
Probably only a matter of time till some start showing up with electronic fish finds and callers on Penns.
Yeah,I know,they already have.

I liked the waffle better-lol
It just saddens me to think some believe encouraging anglers to mob certain spots makes for better fishing for those willing to make an effort.
Electronics have their place but I prefer bamboo and a little thought.
[now he will tell me I am an expert at the latter]lol.
I guess I am going to the dogs[racing].

Anybody know of any spots to catch some big trout? There don't seem to be any in meadow run anymore.

Slate,

Your just not fishing in the right spot. Try the big hole past the downed oak tree about 200 yards up from the lower parking area... I just slayed them in there yesterday on green weenies.

Pete,

That's about as good as it gets for wild trout in Southwest PA. The brown is about 10 inches and the brook about 9. Caught them both on one of our few class A's down here.
