Cool temps for most of the 10 day forecast for Erie, but little rain if any. They may come in, but they won't get far....

The surface and bottom temps along the Erie shoreline of PA are down to 72F this evening. When we see another 4 degrees drop off, the shoreline fishing should dramatically improve. Wouldn't it be awsome if we had a serious rainy September? The creeks would definately reward us in Oct/Nov if that would happen.

I've got the itch to get out there so bad, can't stop tying flies just to keep me occupied while I wait for some rain. If it don't rain soon, I'll have to build a bigger man cave to store all these flies!

I was up there today, but not fishing. Stopped by walnut at dusk. Saw a beaver and 2 baby beavers, which was very cool for my girls to witness, but no steel in the stream. Saw one caught on the wall by a guy throwing a cleo. Talked to a guy who was there at first light this morning and said there were 4 in the first riffle...and they retreated quickly after sun up.

Sounds like a few fish are really wanting to come in. If we got two solid days of rain, I bet it'd be on!!

Troutbuster the creeks are still as low as when i took you around, walnut started to come up when it rained but went right down ,we need rain for a few days and lots of it . The cooler nite have some jacks coming to the mouths but when the sun comes out they scoot back out.

The fish staging are very eager to take streamers in the lake. Sounds like there could be enough probing the shorelines to make surf-casting worthwhile if you find yourself up there. I wouldn't take the 3 hour ride for it, that's for sure. I went up with Alby early a couple years ago and ended up on French Creek after wasting 3 hours casting in the lower reaches of Elk. There were a few risers, but they were't interested in feeding. We didn't try the lake. I will no doubt jump the gun again, but I am not ready to go just yet. 10 days makes a difference (or could make a difference) at this point.

Erie forecast has changed a little bit.... looks like they could get a little rain at the beginning of next week..... the weekend of the 25th is about as early as I'm looking at the first trip up.

Why, of the hundreds of scenarios traced for the path of the storm, do none of them pass directly over the Erie Tribs?

Hundreds?

Reminds me of a story my grandmother loved to tell.

Uncle (when he was a kid) came running in the house shouting "there must be a thousand rabbits in the back yard!"

Grandma says "How many?"

Uncle: "At least a hundred."

Grandma: "How many?"

Uncle: "Well, there's a heck of a lot of tracks!"
