I've been loving life along the Conodoguinet Creek in Cumberland County. It's been a great first year along the water. I have learned to fish for bass (and there's a unique thrill about grabbing a rod, one popper, and nothing else to head into the water), and am enjoying myself immensely.
This last week, my section of creek has become a bit of a tourist destination for birders. A roseate Spoonbill has decided that the scuds from the Conodoguinet remind them a lot of the shrimp they used to enjoy back in Florida.
If you enjoy bird watching, be sure to hit either Lancaster or Cumberland counties to catch these birds. This is the first time this species has been seen in Pennsylvania for 50 years.
