Well, I'll not be fishing but I will take a lawn chair to a local stream, near a bridge that has a long and deep hole. Many anglers will be shoulder to shoulder, vasting a varirty of baits. Last year at this same spot, one angler hooked a large trout and it ran upstream tangling 7 lines.

I love to watch opening day happenings, the entertainment factor is next to none. I have nothing against anglers on opening day, I once participated, but now am a spectator.

I'm goin! Not gonna fish on any ATW, but I'll be fishing a wild stream that flows into one, and parking where all the 1st Dayers will be, so I'll get a glimps of the circus!

I love opening day for stockies. Such a pure #censor# show, that I just have to partake in it. A few buddies and I will arrive at the stream tonight between 12-2am, have a few beverages, grill some food, and have a good time. Two of my friends and I will use fly rods. We will hear the comments from the bait chuckers, till we annihilate the stockies with suckerspawn. Good times good times.

It never fails that I seem to tell someone that I am going to drown them. Gives my friends laugh and something to talk about in the following years.

Maybe I'll take my 7wt, some weighted sculpins, and my multiplier reel and have some fun.

I hope I do see a lot of little kids out, though, catching fish with their dads and grandpas.

I'm taking my son to the EB Perk behind my house. All the fish got washed downstream and I know where they are hiding, and it's mostly in places where dudes never fish. Hopefully he'll get some nice bends in his Anakin Skywalker rod while daddy swings a bugger.

I enjoy my 1 or 2 outings each year fishing outing with my non-flyfishing buddies. We wll be taking my Bass Tracker to a local SCPA lake (Opossum) with my 8 year old nephew and my buddy's 7 year old grandson in tow. I spend last night rigging four spinning outfits to ensure I have spares rigged when the inevitable tangles occur. I may even have time to wet a fly line, although with four people on the boat, it is unlikely.

Opening day reminds me of the Yogi Berra quip: "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."

I'm setting up the Hot Dawg Wagon in Bubbletown. Balloons, Foam Fingers, Cotton Candy, Fish Pellets and Velveeta Balls. Rakin in the enough bucks to purchase the St. Croix Bank Robber...
