Anyone who is cut out should inquire with the CG about renting a trailer site. They would accomodate two large tents, have water and electric and will only be $15-$20 more per night than a single tent site. I'm not sure if all of that is booked, but I would ask.

Also, Hemlock Acres CG is about 20 minutes or less away and State College motels aren't too far. Finally, there was a motel just a few minutes away, southeast from the CG, but I cannot remember the name or location.

Finally, for the adventuresome camper, the State Forest has numerous primitive campsites that can be reserved for the asking. Call the Forestry Office in Woodward.

Poe paddy state park would be my backup plan for camping. I believe it's all dirt roads from poe to seven mountains if that helps to ease your concerns.

I've got a spot, so it don't matter to me. But I'm assuming the concern here is having to drive home after adult beverages, meaning you'd have to take it really easy on such beverages. But to me, even with 0 beverages, there's another concern. Driving in any campground at night. We're likely to stay with the group till 1 or 2 a.m. Taking a car through at that time of night tends to upset some people, even if you have the lights off.

If I was in that situation, I'd think strongly about getting a permit for primitive camping in the state forest somewhere. It's just a place to crash, won't be there much anyway, all you need to do is be able to pitch a tent.

with my situation being a last minute decision, I contacted the campground to see about being able to pitch a tent or sleep in the truck should I decide to come out sometime friday if I can. they simply said there is one campsite left to reserve. well, I'm not reserving a site I'm not sure I can use.
SOOOO, is there anyone willing to sublet a 6x6 spot at their site should I be able to make it out? I'll bring beer, good beer at that!!
right now it's maybe 50/50 that I will be there. all depends on family matters.
I really want to try to make it out, bruno brings good cheese!!!
anyone hear from shakey yet? he does have a job now!!

We rented an on site travel trailer. I am sure we could put a tent beside it.

cool! I appreciate the offers guys! I figured I wouldn't have too much of a problem. hell, I travel all over the place and never make reservations and have never had a problem finding a place to crash.
still about 50/50 if I make it out or not.

Is it me or does anyone else get the feeling that the folks at Seven Mountains have no idea what they've gotten themselves into?

I think some people have tried to make it clear what's going to happen, but we'll see!

Church lady says we should all make an effort to cause the experience to be pain-free to the Campground as we possibly can. Fould language should be confined to personal conversations, and unruliness should be avoided. At the same time, I hope we will be allowed to have a good time in light of the business we will no doubt have brought to the campground for the weekend and beyond.

She (church lady) doesn't understand us, then. I don't think we're too bad on language. Unruliness isn't horrible either, we all get along fine. I think the biggest concerns we bring are noise and use of vehicles, both which go into the late hours. The problem is that we're fishermen. We fish till dark, often have a long drive back, and THEN we expect to get together to do our socialization. Any other sane group organizing a get-together like this, the socialization part would be well under way before the sun goes down.

We also bring an awful lot of people. More than many campgrounds can handle with parking, showers, etc.

Someone's a little late on the countdown

I wonder how many people we have coming this year. I wouldn't be surprised if we come close to the 100 mark. I'll be up with my buddy Greg and another fishing buddy who lurks on here. I am taking a long lunch break today to get some tying done for the JAM.

I was going to penns this weekend for my annual outing with some friends, but with everything blown out, we cancelled. the good news is we may reschedule for the weekend of the jam, so I'll hopefully be around regardless, and I'll have a place to stay(top secret location on penns!)
I'll def be over to the campground for some beers though!
