That's great! But like others have said, we will have to wait a year to take advantage of this unless you don't go fishing till after Feb.

For some reason....that struck me as funny. Probably true. I just paid $70 to renew mine.

Just wanted to bump this thread just in case anyone is looking to buy a NYS fishing license this year. I originally thought it started on Jan. 1st, but it is Feb. 1st.

And it looks like it actually WILL HAPPEN according to the DEC website.

Here is the link to the NYS DEC website for information and purchasing:

I'll see your bump and raise you a bump.

I would think that out-of-state licenses should be cheaper than in-state in order to encourage tourists.

Because we all know fly fisherman aren't frugal lol... I still feel at $70 the NY fishing license was a bargain...

Website simply lists " $70 non-resident fishing license". I don't recall anything about a stamp.

No trout stamp.
I know that I will go to the Steelhead Jam come Nov, provided I'm still on the green side of the lawn. Anyone interested in extendig that into the next week, to a NY Trib. Brown Jam? GG
