Mousing for browns

Has anyone had much luck with fishing mouse patterns for brown into the late evening here? I know the special reg areas tend to be closed at night but what about other areas? I've had a reasonable amount of success doing this in the summer up in MI but have not tried it over here. In particular you get a water shrew up there that will really get the attention of a big brown.

Thanks! That's a nice mouse pattern. I generally tie a whitlock's mouse most of the time. I like the foam under body though, it would probably make for a little faster tie than the whitlock pattern. If for no other reason than just not having to worry about packing and clipping the hair.
 
Well, the mouse in that link is a museum piece, haha. I generally just tie gobs of deer hair and grey marabou on a hook and it does the job.
