East Branch Codorus and its trib, Blymire Hollow Run were stocked with 70% ST and 30% BT. Residency in the two streams ranged from 89-92%, which is very good to excellent. Per the previous thread on the topic, ST and BT residencies statewide typically average from 48-52%. Obviously we are pleased with the results on these two streams. Blymire had been portrayed as having low angler usage and possible residency problems so it might be worthwhile checking out if you favor small stream fishing. There were other reasons to be pleased with these streams as well in comparison to the past.

Mike,
I'm sure others would like to know as well as I, does the residency show a preference of fish from certain hatcheries in certain streams?

At one time (decades ago) we thought freestone hatchery fish would survive or reside better in freestone streams but we found that fish from limestone hatcheries, placed in cages, survived better in the lower pH streams.
