Well as I sit here on Wednesday evening waiting for the digit counter to change I had a little time to reflect. Dangerous. I have been sort of waiting for this day for several months now not sure just when the counter was going to make that one more click to the 100,000 post number. Not that there is any special that will happen just a number in my own mind that was milestone of sorts.

The current forum started September 9, 2006 and I think we have put in close to 50,000 posts in the last year. The numbers really don't mean to much to me , but point to the success of our fly fishing community and a place that I think many people can enjoy sharing in that sport. I just want to thank you all for sharing and helping others on the site. More importantly contributing to the betterment of Fly Fishing in Pennsylvania.

As the counter rolls up I see the GulfGreyhound posted the 100,000 post on the site. If I had prize GG I would get one. Thanks. More importantly his post was to a new member welcoming them to the forum and he typifies why we have a great site here.

Thanks to GulfGreyhound. A special thanks to Maurice, Pad and Jack for all the help they provide on the site and forum.

I may not post as often as a lot of you guys, but I can tell you this - I talk about something I read here every day with my little flyfishing group. And that is not an exaggeration. I love this forum!!!!! Congrats on your success.

Dave,
More importantly than any #, know that every post is appreciated...and that every one of the posters enjoys and appreciates the effort, work, frustrations, deditcation, structure, passion, blood, sweat, tears, etc. that you have invested in this site!!!
Congrats to you on a well deserved milestone!!!

Dave,

Congratulations to you and your crew of moderators for gently guiding the development of the site into something I am proud to be a part of. Maintaining the rudder through the explosive growth of the past year is a credit to all of you who work behind the scenes.

May you have continued success!

I should be embarrassed perhaps to be responsible for 5.2% of the posts, but there are at least a couple posters who have contributed 6% or more. Congrats, Dave and thanks for maintaining things for us all to enjoy. Without a doubt, this is the most useful Pennsylvania site for trout fly anglers, as well as at the top for other species.

Gee I woulda thought LJ had a 20% stake with all the pols stuff he throws at us. In all seriousness to all (especially Dave) hands down this is the most informative forum on the web. Anyone would be hard pressed to find a group who are so willing to help others in anything from car repairs to golf clubs and computer problems. Anytime my wife mentions something off the wall my initial response is "let me check with the boys"

It's great to see only a few have 6% of posts even though I'm newer here it speaks volumes on the generousity that is still left in our society despite all the depressing things the media throws at us day.

Thanks again and congrads!

I should have brought that up.

Well there are 21 out of the 2500 members who have over 1000 posts: acristickid, afishinado, albatross, Bruno,Chaz, dryflyguy, FarmerDave, Fishidiot, jayL, JackM, jayL, littlejuniata, Maurice, mkern, Padraic, pcray1231, pete41, ryguyfi, salvelinusfontinalis, tomgamber, and troutbert.

1939 members have 10 or less posts.

Not a contest just interesting stats. Thanks all for making it fun.

LJ has been a member for a long time but has only gone on a post frenzy in the last 9 months or so.

I think I've fished with 9 of the top posters. That says a lot about the value of this board. I've also met dryflyguy multiple times and have yet to fish with him. No wonder dry fly fishing is what I consider my weak point.

Dave,
Many thanks for making this website available - it seems to get better every day. And more thanks to Jack, Pad, and Maurice for all the time you've invested in making this available to the rest of us.

Here's to an even better next 100,000. I look forward to many more fascinating and informative discussions, photos, arguments, viewpoints, updates, and lots of general good stuff.

I've never really payed any attention to the number of posts I've had , and am a little surprised that it's over 1,000. My wife is always telling me that I spend too much time on here, and maybe she's right.
But this is my entertainment. I watch very little TV - other than steeler, penguin, and pitt games. And I'd really rather be doing something like this, instead of just staring at a picture on a screen.
Thanks again Dave for providing it
