This August, I will have the opportunity to travel to Levelock, Alaska to visit my daughter. She is a teacher in the small village of 65. Only 18 students from K-12. The Kvijack river is right outside her door. I know felt boots are prohibited. I am looking for advice from anyone who has fished this area. Should I tie my own flies, or purchase gear in Anchorage? There are no stores with in 300 miles of the village, so I must have all supplies on hand when I arrive. Any information on regulations is appreciated. She has caught fish on spinners and buggers. Here is a link to a lodge she has visited. http://www.fishasl.com/ She has a skiff, so we can travel the river.
Thank you

I would call the lodge and ask them. They should be able to answer your questions.

JMP this sounds pretty dangerous, maybe I should go with you?!! :D

Three Rivers Fly Shop in Wasilla is 45 min north of Anchorage -- great selection of flies and well stocked with fly fishing gear.
