I know some have been anxiously awaiting this post. Well it's here.

I'll be more than happy to organize it again this year. I just might not be able to make the whole event and may need a stand in to keep everything organized while we're up there. I've got a 1 year old and a sick pregnant wife so it's a day to day thing at home. I should be able to make at least one day but we'll see as the time gets near.

First off is the date.

November 4-6th or...
November 11-13th

If you can make it then put in your request. I'll work out the details from there. Most likely we'll be at Folly's end or Uncle Johns to meet up in the mornings and then we can go from there. A nice meal at a local establishment in the evening and then off to a few places to stay the night. It's a bit more spread out than the typical JAM's but I'll try to work on that this year.

So just mark your claim on coming to this even, say your preferred weekend, and any other help you can offer would be great.

Fall is upon us... you better get ready!
Ryan

Edit: The dates above have been corrected.

I'm game to come up 4-6.

where's a good place to stay?

anyone from SE PA want to commute?

Forget about the stockies and go fish the Salt :-D

Ryan, thanks for getting this together again. I am certainly in for as far out as I can guess. I'm marking both dates and will try to make at least two days.

Thinking about the Erie situation and fragmentation of the group, I would suggest everyone be encouraged, to the extent possible, to lodge near Folllies.

Friday and Saturday nights should be scheduled by reservation with the restaurant, if possible, and a time should be chosen for the "dinner" perhaps 30 minutes post nightfall-- be there or be square. This way, everyone can know exactly where they will end the day. The Follies morning coffee seems to be working out fine.

Word is the schools are huge this year and have quite a few returning browns among them.

Hi Ryan - A tentative yes to 11/4-11/6. Do you really mean 11/7 - 11/9? That's a Monday to Wednesday.

I'll confirm with work, but I already have the first two weeks in November "stashed", as far as priority in vacation time. Should be a slam dunk, but ya never know...

If I can make it, I'll sub for you as usual. I'll call you when I know more...

H.A.

Not sure I can make it this year (could only do a weekend) - I'll be lucky to get a salt trip in about that time. No preferance on dates for me.

I'm looking forward to the pics and stories. Good luck all....here's hoping for a great steel run in '11.

I would love to make this my first jam. Unfortunately (well, not unfortunately except in fishing terms) my wife is due in mid Novemember. Probably can't be 8 hours away...

This is also happenig November 5th,
The Great Lakes Steelhead Expo
Saturday, November 5th
1:00-9:00pm

EDIT!!!

the 2nd weekend is the 11th to the 13th. (I mean to add 7 to the first date and instead just put in 7)

Frederick - we'd all go fish salt if it wasn't an 8 hour drive for us. Steel is 2 for me and plenty fun.

Thanks for the info CRD. Not that crowds aren't always a problem but a big event might make them a tad worse. Either way we're going to deal with crowds but whatever date people want is still fine by me.

Are you bringing donuts ?

count me in! either weekend works for me at this point.

tim, shoot me a PM if you're still looking to make the commute from the SE.

Is that even a real question?

It wouldn't be a steelhead JAM without them!

Second weekend only works for me, if I can make it.

I'll try to make it. My work schedule is a bear. I work 3 out of 4 weekends a month and won't know until the week prior what days I'm really off. I was thinking of making a midnight run to Ithaca, NY the first weekend you listed so maybe I can squeeze a day in during the second option (11-13).

The good thing about having deplorable hours at work is that almost all of my "weekends" are actually mid-week so I normally fish when the crowds are thinner...especially after antler season opens.

Ryan,

Thanks for organizing. I'm in for at least one day, hopefully more. No preference on which weekend. I know a nice wild stream up there I've been itching to show you... :)

I can attend either weekend for both days, just need to know 2 weeks prior to take off work.

Will be bringing 2 non-paflyfishers' along...

first jam attendance... have a few masons of diff. flavors of moonshine coming next weekend. Would this be a good item to bring for the sharing?

also, sorry if I missed it, but do you all tend to fish in the same area. If water levels are good, I like to be on the east side.. just throwing questions out there.

I'd say I'll come for a day or two, providing my buck is hangin' in the skinning shed.

Any one who has never attended a Jam, I highly recommend it. They are both educational and entertaining, sometimes simultaneously!?

usually we split up in groups some stay on elk some venture east few very few hit the nut house

I will hopefully be in NY somewhere hitting steelies up there for 9 days, have fun though, maybe next year ill make it.
