Looking for a little help, I was exploring a new brookie stream today and when I stopped to take a temperature reading I started to flip a few rocks to see what was down there. I flipped this rock over and found these eggs stuck in a pile under a rock. I can’t find any frog eggs that resemble these and they seem big for crawfish and I was under the understanding crawfish keep their eggs attached. They where about the size of trout eggs or a 5/64 bead head. This rock was located in the tail out of a pool in decently fast water. Anyone now what they are

No expert but I believe those are mudpuppy eggs

Thanks, doing a little google search I believe you are correct....that’s cool to find I have never seen those before

I guess your never to old or late to be doing an Easter Egg hunt!!

Been a long time since I've caught a mudpuppy. I used to catch them once in awhile when I fished with worms.

I caught one years ago catfishing up on the Allegheny up by kennerdell...cool creatures wasn’t expecting to find them in small mountain streams

Cool find, thanks for sharing!

Mud puppies are a sign of a clean and healthy stream, so it's good to see them.
