Was out at spring creek yesterday and came back to my car and my car was covered with about 20 of these flies..anybody know what they are..also a I'm headed back down there weds and Thursday..was curious to know what fly to use or what's working?

Won't let me post the picture off my phone.. Help!?!?!

What time of day was it they were on your car? About how big was the body? And, what color?

There are only a couple of flies that could be hatching there right now.
So, yeah - size and color should be able to pinpoint the bug.

its a camotranslucent marchitructus

Nice, I like that Bob.

it ws maybe 1/4in-1/2 long. black with wings. It was between 5-530pm. Thinking it was black caddis but not sure

Could have been a caddis. Did it have tent shaped wings or were they flat on the body. If they where tent shaped it would be caddis,
flat stone fly, splayed out on top like a house fly midge.

Caddis are possible but I'm thinking brown stone fly. Seems just a tad early for caddis but in warmer springs we've seen good hatches starting mid April.
