My daily walk has been taking me past a forsythia bush. Today for the first time there are a few full blooms peeking out. That means it's soon Hendrickson time here. If you can find any.
I compiled a couple pages of notes about whats blooming/growing and hatches around that time. I got the info from various sources and some observations. If I can find it I'll post it here.
The forsythia's in my yard are full of swollen buds, - but none have opened yet. Will probably burst open with the warmer weather forecast for later this week.
I've always admired all of the beautiful red bud trees that flower along the little j when the grannoms hatch. So, I bought one - and planted it in my yard last spring. Will be interesting to see how well it correlates to the hatching time their this year - since the river is 120 miles away.
