On Saturday TB TR and I went fishing after a meeting in Pleasant Gap on Spring Creek. And I'm posting this for those that have previously asked about the BWO hatch (baetis). There was a huge hatch of them at mid-day, we missed most of it because the meeting lasted till about 1.
The first indication that there was a hatch were the birds. There were birds on the snow obviously feeding on bugs, and as we walked along the creek it became apparent what it was they were feeding on as the snow was covered with baetis. It appeared they were all duns. Perhaps a spinner fall followed, but it started to chill and get gray so we finished up fishing because the trout had stopped feeding and we went to dinner.

The trout stopped feeding and went to dinner? Does not make sense.
