A birthday skunking

Well guys, yesterday was my birthday so I decided to do some fishin. In the morning I went out to Segloch Run in Lancaster to try to catch some natives. Not only did I not catch anything, I did not see a single fish rise. And the water was real muddy (guess there was a big storm?), so I didn't see any fish underwater either.

On my way back to Philly in the afternoon I stopped at Valley. Here I at least *saw* some fish but once again got my ass handed to me. I cast to two nice browns in a pool for a good long while, threw nymphs and hoppers and ants and beetles with nary a response from the fish, much less a take. This was my first time on Valley in the summertime "low and clear" conditions. Might have caught something if I had stayed til later in the evening, but I gave up and headed home.

In conclusion, the trout evidently didn't get the memo about it being my birthday. Still was very nice to get out of the city.
