or net them and give them free to Chinese restaurants - which is how they got there...as offerings the chinese release potential food like snakeheads, toads etc to appease their ancestors.

There are documentation that they will attack humans in order to protect their young. So all of us who wade in these waters best be more on the alert.

I need some assistance, want to be the first to patent breathable chest waders with gaiters that reach all the way to the waist.

I also want to market a stream-sized net that has a gaff extending from the handle end.

Just a little ammunition for your snakehead arsenal. I was reading "US Geological Survey Circular 1251" It mentions that spawning behavior of snakeheads is not well known but generally they are known to spawn from June through August. "Female Northern Snakeheads are capable of spawning five times a year" according to the circular. Snakeheads do defend their nests. My conclusion is that just as Mike says, they are vulnerable when on their nests and they may be on their nests at any time during the summer. There are probably some defending their nests right now in the Delaware. Go get em! I'm off work next week and I'll definitely be chasing some snakeheads in the "big D". If you go, good luck!

Gear needed:

7-8 weight fly rod

Rio extreme tippet

Articulated streamers

Phillies souvenir ball bat to sedate snakeheads.

Someone mentioned flatheads on page 1...they are just as invasive as the snakeheads and should be killed also. The small mouth fishery on the Skuke is completely ruined because of them. I'd kill either one immediately if caught
