We stayed at Seven Mountains a couple summers ago. Poe Valley was closed for renovation and we felt Hemlock was too tight and narrow to try to get our trailer into for 2 nights.

SM was ok, at the time it was a lot of seasonal trailers, not sure if that is the case now or not, it looks like they have made some improvements.

This is just hearsay!

I heard that the seasanol rates have went through the roof, since the new owners took over and are losing alot of them, if true should make more room for us.I too have heard of the inprovements, that are being made. The rates seam a little high but not that bad. It's not that far from Hemlock so, I'll still be staying at my place and traveling over for the events.

Jack,
I am relatively new to this site but have thoroughly enjoyed reading the constructive information as well as the fun banter between fellow fisherman.

I will be attending to put faces to some of these posters:)

I was happy to see the location and can confirm the campground is very nice. I do own a cabin within 15-20 minutes of this location so I will be hosting CPR with me and we'll commute & visit.

Glad to hear you will be joining us. I've said it before, but it is worth repeating: the Jamboree is the best way to increase your positive experience on the Message Board. It's an opportunity to make the connection between an online social community and so-called "real-life."

To those new to the board, there is often a feeling of being on the outside looking in because so many of us seem to know one another. I would be willing to bet that a lot of these online friendships you can see were forged at PAFF get-togethers such as the annual Jamboree.

I've had some horrible fishing conditions during prior Jams, but never had a bad time meeting other attendees.

Hey, can we sticky this maybe??

I'll be attending. I'll be down as soon as finals are over and will probably stay until Monday or so.

I'm going to start tying tomorrow for this. Various nymphs? Drakes? Sulphurs? BWOs? What sizes would be good also?

March Browns, Sulfurs, Green Drakes, various caddis, brown stonefly possibilities, craneflies. Anything that could be hatching in that time period might be hatching somewhere in the vicinity and probably is. As the date gets closer, everyone will have a better idea how the hatches are progressing. We got word last year of the possibility of Green Drakes hitting early and they were the main spectacle for most of us, but in prior years the Sulfurs and march brown were more the ticket. If you get the GDs on Penns, you will want size #10 or larger. Elsewhere in the area, they may be merely #12-#10.

last year we hit drakes, but I caught most fish on hendrickson and sulfur spinners just at dark. this was on penns, which if you've never fished before, can be a #OOPS#! she can also treat you really well. maybe it's just me, but it seems the flies on penns are larger than on other creeks I fish.
check with http://thefeatheredhook.com/ and http://www.pennscreekangler.com/ for what's hatching during that time. last year everything seemed a week or two early.
I had some good luck with soft hackle wets also, swinging 3 of them old school style when nothing was hatching. various colors, nothing seemed to work better than anything else.

FFP, Feathered Hook, and Penns Creek Angler shop WEB sites all have hatch charts for the area. While they may be open on a reduced winter schedule any one of them will answer additional questions on a phone call.

It can also lead to hangovers and lack of sleep!

Might I suggest that any adults who are attending may wish to have thier growlers filled at the ELK Creek Cafe in Millhiem. The microbrew is excellent. I have no affiliation there but visit it often as my camp is only a couple miles from there.

Since the jam has been in coburn so many times, many of us have made a habit out of going to Elk Creek cafe. It's no secret in this group!

Ya, I hear there is quite a bit of talent in there for all us slobs to admire. Biker, I don't remember which beer you had in your growler Friday night of last years jam but it was pretty kick ass.

Now to get started on the name tags . . .

Love Elk Creek. Usually have great bands on Sat. nights too, though during the Jam there are more important things to do on Sat. night.
