Hi everyone,

One of my responsibilities for 2017 will be creating a Fly Tying Module for the Fly Tying Group of the International Federation of Fly Fishers.

I have started a PowerPoint Presentation that will be used for the IFFF Academy for the Fly Tying Module. This module will be used to teach Boy Scouts, Women Fly Fishing Program (in Livingston MT at the Fly Fishing Fair) and other youth and adult programs that the IFFF teaches.

Currently I am looking for photos of Insects to show what the flies imitate. I have Adult Mayfly, Adult Caddis, Mayfly Nymph, Caddis Larvae and Baitfish.

I am looking for an emerger, and Grasshopper.

You can email me the JPEG to jerry_coviello@verizon.net
Photos used in the presentation will have the proper credit.

photos must be your own

Thank you
Jerry Coviello
Vice Chairman of the Fly Tying Group Board of Governors of the IFFF

Sounds like a great program.

You may consider contacting Jason Neuswanger at Troutnut.com.
His site has thousands of great aquatic insect photos and he may grant permission for you to use some of them.

Good luck.

The emerger is a hard one.

Typically, it is either the nymph or pupa swimming to the surface to break the film to emerge.
OR
The nymph/pupa trasistioning to adulthood along the stream bottom, swimming to the surface as the adult.

An emerger is not an actual part of the lifecycle.

I was looking for a photo of a natural going through emergence to show what the emerger/wet fly was imitating.

Under Water Oz, Ozzie Ozefovich might also be a source. He does a lot of high quality underwater filming.
