Found this guy on the Neshannock yesterday evening, is it a MB?

Mottled wings, barred legs, 2 tails. Yep, March Brown.

Were they coming off in many numbers? I emailed Bob the other day and he said there were just a few here and there. Mainly caddis, and very small BWO, but the March Browns and Cahills were starting to pop here and there.

I saw this one and maybe 2 others, but I wasn't looking real hard either. I did see what I thought to be a cahill also, but yeah it was mainly caddis. I'm gonna post a report once I get the rest of my pics on the computer and downsized

use a site like photobucket for pictures. You won't have to downsize the pictures because they are linked to that host site, and it doesn't use up any of paff's bandwidth.

Yeah, march brown.

MB's are a decent fishing hatch on Neshannock, they are one of the few mayflies that actually bring fish up on that stream. Never a heavy hatch in my experience, but reliable and sufficient to get the fish looking for them.

The drakes will follow soon after the march browns...
