Hi,

I am thinking to purchase a pair of wet wading shoes which is also comfortable enough to hike in the back country for my upcoming RMNP trip.

I have never wet wade before and not quite sure about how these shoes would keep your feet dry. I have my eyes on the Simms pursuit, and would like to know how you guys think about this one.

Other than the shoes, do I need anything else to wear inside the shoes in order to keep my feet dry? or the shoes will just do all the work. thanks,

those are not wet wading shoes
these are the wet wading "shoe" options

i've had simms sandals since the came out
the guide with the felt and now the pursuit sandal (both discontinued)

your feet wont be dry wet wading... hense to name
there are 2 options
- the 2 links i put in
- wear your wading boots with these http://www.simmsfishing.com/site/guard_socks.html

the guard socks are a neo-bootie that fill out your boot like waders

with either option... if you are hiking for miles
still hike in your hiking boots and then switch to fishing footwear
they back to your hiking boot on the way out...
on top of not killing your feet...you will appreciate being dry

Ramcatt, thanks a lot! now I got it.

FFCman,
As Ramc pointed out, your feet will be wet when wading and this brings up the hiking angle. Some wet wading or wading boots (meant to be worn with stocking foot waders) claim to be good for hiking to the stream. While this might be true when hiking in with dry boots, after you've fished (obviously) your boots will be wet and they may not work well for hiking back out. When hiking, I always wear different boots to hike in and carry my wading boots in a pack. I like to wear socks when wet wading so have an extra pair so that when you put your dry boots back on you'll have a dry pair of socks for the return hike.
At least this has been my personal preferance.
Good luck on your trip to RMNP!
