Any need to replace leader?

Sorry for the ultra noob question. I believe I read on here about replacing or cutting part of the leader back each day it is fished. Is that true? I never thought of replacing or changing mine as long as it isn't broken. Do I need to be maintaining it more?

Run your fingers along it. If it feels intact, there is no need to replace it for that reason. However, because each time a fly is changed an inch or more of the tippet is lost, the leader at the end may need to be periodically re-built. Some people will just replace it at that point since they are usually only a few dollars.

"He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering."
