Besides my Iso Nymph made with just ostrich I have been tinkering with these.
The first one is a coffin fly -- I'll be ready for Penns this year.
The second is a caddis pupa. (I know the bulk of a caddis pupa is lower in the abdomen, but I like the tappered look)

MKern, those look like winners I'm seriously thinking about cloning them :):):):):)):):)

Is that microweb wing materiel on that coffin fly?
I've been using it for years on spinner wings, and finally just exhausted my supply.
I'm wondering if it's still available - haven't seen it around lately

It's No-Frey wing material and I believe it's from hareline.
Hille's carries it in all sorts of colors.

For you craft store people, I believe it's similar to tool, like the bridal vail material.

the second fly is very very nice. Should be a killer.

They look good, but of course the fish are always final judge and teacher.

Just a couple suggestions on the spinner - cast it to see if it spins; squeeze in your hand to see if compresses easily enough to allow it to be swallowed easily by a trout.

If it spins, it'll tick you off when your tippet twists on itself and gets weakened and possibly knotted on itself. There are fixes for stabilizing its flight.
If it doesn't compress with little pressure it'll tick you off with missed fish. There are fixes for that too.
