A humid August evening, a good ball game, a cold beer and mixing up some different bucktail and flash. Tying Clousers is a good stress release for me. They are so easy to tie and the combinations are endless. This one is chartruese and olive bucktail, 2 strands of green flashabou, 2 strands of green kystal flash and medium weight chartruese dumbell eyes tied on a big old #2 stainless steel hook. Making up the "very green" Clouser. I hope it doesn't spook 'em.

More Deer hair flies:

Blue Damsel
Resized Image

I got this pattern from a video from tightlinevideo on youtube, and I really like it. The deer hair body is pretty easy to tie - looked intimidating at first, but it ended up not being that hard. Also the antron to split the hackle fibers in front is smart - gives the impression of split wings.

This one is tied with a product called "web wing," but i tied a few others with the standard turkey tail fibers.
