Nice Dave. That looks like straggle legs there! I finally got some I'll be trying out this weekend just not sure on what yet. I'm going to be spinning up a couple different caddis larva this weekend as well, I'll be sure to post the updated box.

A buddy of mine is headed for Florida for some saltwater fishing. I've never tied for saltwater but I did the shrimp below. I'll tie up one more with brown Marabou instead of grey. I'm using a lot of glue as I figure those saltwater fish can be somewhat tough on a bug.

Fairly easy to tie too. I'd like to get them down a little neater though.

I'm working up some classic streamer flies for mounting shadow box style for an upcoming art show.

Since I mount my flies on mat board, I'll start by tying a heavy wire post against the shank of the hook, which protrudes out perpendicular to the shank. I'll then build up a base of thread and seal it with a varnish (as can be seen in the upper pic).

The fly is then tied in traditional manner, in this case a Grey Ghost, working carefully around the wire.

When the fly is ready to mount, I'll put a clear bead on the wire and secure it with some Superglue to serve as a spacer. The wire is then pushed into the mat board and secured with epoxy.
