I think the most interesting part of looking at the great work on this thread, is to study the different types of materials that can be used to tie the same type of fly.

Micro-sculpins.

I like 'em small and very heavy. These little fellas are loaded up with tungsten and ready to attack the bottom.

While big streamers have their place, with respect to sculpins, I think many FFers are using patterns that are too large. To be sure, sculpins can be big as I've noted in other threads, but based on my surveys, most sculpins I see in my local creeks, on average, are under 2" in length with many of them closer to 1 inch.
