I was out the other day and used a sulphur spinner tied on a weamer true form hook. Had 2 solid takes, waited for the fish's head to tip down and set the hook. Both times the hook did not find home. Switched to another pattern and got solid hooksets right away. Anyone else have issues with these hooks, or any tricks to using them???

Perhaps it was just not a good day for that hook/pattern. I'll try it again and see what happens.

I wouldn't draw any conclusions based on two fish. I've used the truform hooks quite a bit and caught plenty of fish on them. I like them for larger bugs: slate drakes and march browns in particular. I've never used them for smaller bugs like sulphurs.

just a rookie fisherman......................................................

I heard sandflea use to catch fish with hooks he made from old rusty nails !!!!!!!!

I was not familiar with the hooks so I looked them up. Just from the appearance of them I personally would never use them. The stlye of hook seems to have no hooking leverage.
