Any of you guys tie a pellet fly . i know they fall somewhere into the cheese fly classification but im tired of fishing when the fish are keyed in on a pellet hatch. Im thinking some type of spun clipped deerhair should work rather well any other suggestions.

wine bottle cork - whittled into a ball and dyed with magic marker.
If you wanna go the easy route, I think you can buy cork balls

Walt's Worm

This pattern works great as a caddis pellet fly.

A walt's worm doesn't imitate a pellet. It's a crane fly larvae.

Which everyone knows, crain flies hatch from fishery pellets.

For those who don't want to think a WW is a pellet fly. Try this one

The vast majority of crane flies you see milling around a stream are not aquatic.

The bottom one is one of the most realistic crane fly larva ties I've ever seen.

Staggerlee
How is that tied and what hook is that?

Its regular old coffee chenille wrapped on a hook. Pick a hook any wide gap hook will do.
