hey gfen dude, i get a lot of patterns from this book, over 16,000 listed: sorry about the print it was done back in the beginning of computers..

Out of print dictionary of fishing flies for the very serious sports fisherman by Keith E. Perrault. Introduction by Charles F. Waterman and published by KEPCOR, Orlando Florida. Printed by Daniels Publishing Company, Inc. Orlando Florida, 1984.

1984, Hard Cover, 8vo (approximately 7-3/4" x 9-3/4") 705 pages. Maroon leatherette with gold titles. No dust jacket issued. Nice copy with no inscriptions.

Few anglers have even heard of a fraction of the more than 16,000 patterns listed. Fly users and tiers are readers and students of their field, but the books they collect and treasure are almost invariable specialty volumes concerned with a phase of the game or section of its geography. This dictionary provides a standard for fly dressing.

I love things like that, actually. Someone else here had said they had a locally compiled book of flies, too, and I think they said they knew how to get me a copy, but I never followed up and I never answer his calls either.

I really need to devote some time to fishing some of these classic flies, though. I hate to think about some of these things fading into memory, but the problem is as much as I love them, I'm just pisspoor using 'em.

Be great to get a hold of the source. I see used ones at $55 to $75.
