this was my first attempt what do you think
They are on size 18.
Going to try them on some fist in the morning
 
Looks good. The key, I think, with midges, is to keep them very sparse and very slim. Sometimes it helps to have some thicker ones for broken water however.
Size 18 is on the large size for midges IMO, but it is usually a good idea to start large and then work smaller as you get better at tying a particular pattern.

Two thumbs up. Let us know how they perform for you.
 
I will go up to size 16 one some flashy midge patterns, then put a smaller midge trailing it.

I think you got a little to much fluff though, unless it's a bigger midge thats flashy I like to keep them slimmer
